Mark your calendars because the fine folks at Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find in Charlotte, North Carolina, those responsible for the fabulous Heroes Con, is hosting the Charlotte Mini-Con on January 19, 2008. And guess who’s gonna be there? The Dollar Bin!

Charlotte Mini-Con 2008

Who’s Gonna Be There?

We’ll be there in all glory interviewing some of our most favorite people in comics, and I’m not talking about our favorite people we love to hate. Oh no. I’m talking about creators that actually work their collective asses off because of their enormous love for creating comics. Sometimes these folks are referred to as mini-comics creators or indie creators. We at the Dollar Bin like to refer to them as family.

Of course their will be creators there that work for the likes of the big publishers and we think of them as family too. That’s why we can talk smack about people because we’re all family and that’s what family is for right? We love you all!

If you can make it to Charlotte then look for us at Charlotte Mini-Con 2008. Here’s a link to the location on Google Maps so there is no excuse for you not to be there unless you are from another country like our buddy Andrew down under. It’s just a $3 - $5 donation to get in which means you can write it off on your taxes for next year. Now how’s that for being a comic book fan? Tax deduction.

How will you find us?

Easy, either head over to Rob Ullman and J. Chris Campbell’s tables where we like to refresh, relax, get back rubs by some of Rob’s pretty ladies, and download get maintenance repairs on recording equipment by J. Chris’ robots. If we are not there just ask those fine guys. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

  1. Have y’all considered coming to Megacon in Orlando?

  2. You guys should come over here to Kansas City for Planet Comicon in April. Brian Pulido, Eric Powell, Arthur Suydam, Tony Moore, and KURT BUSIEK will be there.

Oh, and Walter Keonig and Lou Ferrigno.

  3. I’ve thought about Megacon. Right now I am planning on trying to be there, but I also planned on being at Dragon Con in Atlanta up until the actual week of the con, so I might make it. Planet Comiccon? KC is like 14 hours away and the 8 to Orlando is pushing it. We can’t yet afford to fly to these things, unfortunately, and we usually have to be leaving from work and back to work on Monday. Hopefully someday we’ll be able to take a Con tour. That would be awesome!

  4. Yeah, Adam’s right. Our limits right now are time and funding. Everything we do is out of our own pocket and constrained to weekends. Now if we had investors things would be different. I wonder how many podcasts, not just comic podcasts, have investors? My guess would be less than five.

Anyone got a rich aunt Adam could marry to help fund the Dollar Bin?

  5. I understand that. I just may have to get something signed for you’s guys and send it to you.

Got no rich aunt, but my dad looks like Charles Bronson.
