Heroes Con 08 - Minicomics - The Best Little Comics In the World
By Dollar Bin • Jul 18th, 2008 • Category: ShowsJoin cartoonist and educator Ben Towle for a minicomics panel featuring the awesome might of Dan Zettwoch (IRONCLAD), Alec Longstreth (PHASE 7), Rob Ullman (GRAND GESTURES), Liz Baillie (MY BRAIN HURTS), and Joe Lambert (BAIT & SWITCH). Who better to ask what the deal is with these little handmade comics? Learn the answers to this and other questions in this informative panel!
* Unfortunately I was not able to monitor the field recorder during this panel (which was very important to me) and it ran out disk space before completion. Oh, and I miss the beginning due to overlapping panels. Yeah, and I wasn’t able to use my full recording system nor set up any mics. Not bad though, huh? - Adam

[...] good folks over at the Dollar Bin podcast have posted audio of the Heroes Con ‘08 minicomics panel, featuring Rob Ullman, Alec Longstreth, Joe Lambert and Liz Bailie–and moderated by me. The [...]
Can’t read the names on the covers and can’t see all the titles in the picture so I could look them up so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that two of the mini comics in the picture must be by Rob Liefeld…That’s my final answer!
- Kevin P. Johnson
PS those comics look really cool
More PS Thanks for my winnings of the Pat Lewis contest although as I predicted the postman decided to just stuff it in my little apartment mailbox making the comic bent up on the corners and edges but the drawing on the cover is ok. If I ever win again I think I’ll pay for priority shipping so you can put it in a box.

I’m gonna say the two comics are by Ben Towle. I’m probably wrong, but it’s worth a shot.
I actually don’t have any of Ben’s minis. Everything I have of Ben’s is in Anthologies, except for my recently purchased Midnight Sun, which although small, I don’t consider a minicomic.
I’ll give you the names of the people in the stack:
Liz Baillie
Brad McGinty
J Chris Campbell
Rob Ullman
Curls Studio
Duane Ballenger
Robert Venditti
Max Ink
Justin Gammon (not really a minicomic maybe)
Falynn Koch
Brian Fukushima
and the creator of the Bit Lip book who’s name I can’t think of.
Also I will though in the person was not in the panel, but was a Hereos Con 08.
Aw. There goes my chance at free minis. Also, I’m pretty sure Patrick Dean did Bit Lip.
Damn. You are right. If no one else wins by next week I’ll give it to you for that.
I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed.
I can has free minis?
I announced it at the end of our last show, but I’ll be surprised if anyone makes it that far, so I will come out and say here “yes you do’s get them.” Just send me your info or we will be up at Heroes for the Millar/Harris “drop in” in a few weeks. Let me know: adamatthedollarbindotnet
Dang. I feel a little more like a douchebag because I didn’t get to hear the last ten minutes of the last show. I arrived at work before I could finish listening. Nevertheless, WHOO!
[...] do love when I can get a nice compact burst of information on the topic, which I did get from this Dollar Bin recording of the minicomics panel from HeroesCon. This does make me realize that I need to go to Lulu.com and buy the collection of [...]
