RWR - Censorship and Appropriateness

Comic Shop Owner
Comic Shop Owner As part of our continuing series of conversations with Greenville shop owner Richard Morgan, Adam and Brian once again stopped in his shop to chat. On tap was the content of books and other sale items and how that affects his business. We try to hit all the major points from our thoughts about ratings for books, to displays, to ordering to how parents and companies should act on this issue. So take an audio step inside Richard’s Comics and Collectables and join the conversation.

Adam , thanks for letting vent on the subject.
Richard, I commented on the forums that hearing this conversation made me like All-Star Batman & Robin even more. You guys opened my eyes to those lawsuits....can't believe how litigious folks are.
I do have a question, does it ever worry you that there aren't many kids into comics anymore? Where's the next generation of customers going to come from?
Ted: It's unfortunate that the kids' market is considered to be little more than a specialized niche right now. The kids' section in Heroes takes up a tiny nook in the store as opposed to...everything else.
Here is a link to one of the court cases I referred to:

Ted, it is a concern of course that few kids are into comics these days. But honestly I believe that is due to TV and Computers. I hope that as they hit the highschool years they will make a change or addition to thier life. Actually today with the price of comics and with comics not being everywhere, you almost have to wait till you have a job and transportation till you can actually start the hobby. But I do see new readers every now and then, mainly folks that have seen a particular film and may want to read more about the character or have had a frined introduce them to the hobby.
Thanks, Richard
