Batgirl #1

Written by Bryan Q Miller

Art by Lee Garbett & Trevor Scott

Covers by Phil Noto & Cully Hamner

Hitting stores this week! In the wake of “Batman R.I.P.” and “Battle for the Cowl”, a new heroine has emerged in Gotham City, and as she begins her nocturnal crusade to take back the night, she will truly learn what it means to wear the mantle of the Bat. But who is this young woman, and why has she donned the cape and cowl?

I'll give it a whirl.

Can't be any worse than Gotham City Sirens.

I don't mind Gotham City Sirens, aside from the art and now I am wondering if this Batgirl is Cassandra Cain or Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe.

I don't think it will be Cassandra (which disappoints me) I also don't think it will be Barbara Gordon (which is what I said in this week's show).

Currently I think the top 3 suspects (none of which I like) are:
1) Spoiler
2) Misfit (from BofP)
3) Wendy (from Teen Titans)

I don't even know who she is.

I'll give DC some credit, they actually reveal who the new Batgirl is and more or less how/why she is wearing the suit in the first issue. I have no interest in buying the series now, but I still give them credit for not dragging that mystery out.

I agree; it was nice to find out in issue 1 who's under the cowl. It's not who I expected either. I'm not at all interested in that character as Batgirl, but I would like to see how a few of the other characters respond.
