Maus is a good one that I've read. So are Criminal and Fear Agent. I need to finish Fear Agent. I can't believe I didn't think of Criminal. Its that damn spur of the moment pressure.

I started reading Black Sad last night thanks to the birthday gift to my wife from my lovely cousin Heather. I've finished the first part. So far it is good. I like the last line of the first part a lot. Dialog is a little clunky due to translation. Art is fantastic.

The Evolution of Metal is a cool show, man do I love me some VH1 Classic and no one should feel sorry for Fred Durst.

Fun stat: I said "That's what she said." about 8 times listening to the 1st part of this show.

My top 5 list based purely on what I like the best and nothing else:
1) Parker
2) Criminal
3) Fear Agent
4) GI Joe
5) Walking Dead

Black Sad & We3 are both fantastic but I only have 1 book of each and have or have read a lot more of the others on the list.

I attended the Borderlands sale too and had a lot of fun. I did see Adam walk in just as I was about to leave. The things I picked up were a bunch of Batman back issues (mainly issues of Legends of the Dark Knight), back issues if Clive Barker's Hyperkind and Ecto Kid comics (they're entertaining to any Clive Barker fan, plus they're written by Larry Wachowski of The Matrix fame), a handful of Creepy issues (along with an all Richard Corben issue I had to have), Violent Messiahs Vol 2 and The Complete Crumb Comics Vol 12. I have a lot of reading to do from now until doomsday.

As for my top five non-superhero comics they go as follows-
1. Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo
2. EC Comics "New Trend" titles (Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror, Weird Science, etc.)
3. American Splendor by Harvey Pekar
4. Maus by Art Speigleman
5. Preacher

I would have included The Sandman or Swamp Thing on this list, but like you guys said they do feature superhero characters.

1. The Guild of Calamitous Intent (Venture Bros.)
2. Grendel's logo
3. BPRD logo
4. This isn't from a character or team, but the original Dark Horse Comics knight chess piece.
5. The Madman logo

The logos used for the groups from Transformers (Autobot & Deceptacon) and GI Joe (Cobra, GI Joe, Arashikage clan) are really good and iconic. (and for Adam heavily tattoo'd)

Superman stands out above any other comic logo because it has gone thru very little change while remaining very popular. Even thou Batman is probably a more popular character, his symbol/logo gets tweeked and restyled a lot.

My 5 would have been:
1) Superman
2) Cap's shield
3) Flash's lightning bolt
4) Cobra's symbol
5) classic Batman symbol

Mitch, of course you will get a vote. Tee talks about Atomic Robo a lot, but he isn't on the show too often. Fun fact, he was a character in an issue.

Great show! I, for one, would love to vote in the Dollar Bin Awards show.

People keep telling me to pick up Severed, since it's finishing up I can probably go and get the entire set, or just wait for the trade to come out. One good book out there that no one seems to be talking about is Atomic Robo. I find that it is a very fun read.

On the subject of H.P. Lovecraft, there is a lot I can tell you since I am a very devoted fan of his work. You can find collections of his stories in any bookstore. For beginners I'd recommend first his shorter, earlier stories like "Dagon," "The Hound," and "The Outsider," then stories like "The Rats in the Walls" instead of diving head on first into his Cthulhu Mythos stories, since they can be overwhelming to the Lovecraft newbie.
