Recently at the Heroes Convention Adam was able to coerce Rachelle into interviewing Jimmy Palmiotti (Jonah Hex) with him. There is also a small background “appearance” by Amanda Conner (I, Adam, am so pissed I didn’t get a chance to chat with her). It is just as good as you’d guess. Enjoy.
On Friday at Heroes Con we journeyed a few tables away from ours to chat with the Editor in Chief of Boom Studios who also just happens to be legendary comics writer Mark Waid. In between signing comics for fans he took a moment to talk to us about being the EIC at Boom, super hero continuity problems, how Batman should be written and much more on this edition of the Dollar Bin.
As the store manager of Heroes Aren't Hard To Find Shawn Reynolds has certainly had to deal with her fair share of comic geeks with stupid questions. This Saturday, even after a hectic Free Comic Book Day and being thrown the curve ball of the geeks having microphones she comes through with flying colors and all smiles for this edition of the Dollar Bin.
We recently took a trip to Athens, Georgia for the 2008 Fluke mini-comics convention and had a grand time. Not just because it was a lovely spring day in a college town and not just because most of it was spent in a bar. No sir, a great time was had because of the people we met while talking about comics. People like Jon Chad, Falynn Koch, Joey Weiser, Brett Muller, and many others are what made our trip to Fluke this year so special. On Saturday April 12th the Dollar Bin road crew ventured to lovely Athens, Georgia for the annual Fluke mini-comics convention. It was our first visit to this fine event, but as you can begin to tell from our conversations with Heroes Con Creative Director Dustin Harbin and our friends J Chris Campbell (who created the artwork to the left) and Duane Ballenger from Wide Awake Press, it certainly won't be our last. Since the day we met Jim Rugg at Heroes Aren't Hard to Find as part of the Afrodesiac tour, he has been a favorite of the Dollar Bin. It is funny to realize that over the last 8 or so years, this is the first Dollar Bin vs Jim Rugg interview.
