Since the day we met Jim Rugg at Heroes Aren't Hard to Find as part of the Afrodesiac tour, he has been a favorite of the Dollar Bin. It is funny to realize that over the last 8 or so years, this is the first Dollar Bin vs Jim Rugg interview. Sure, he has made appearances and has been reviewed and talked about in detail, but this is our first in-depth interview with him. Let's see if we can figure out what makes Jim Rugg tick. (I'm disappointed that we didn't get into his "On a Run" diary comics).
Yes, you heard that right! This is only Part 1 of Adam and Shawn’s SPX review-a-palooza. Either they bought way too many comics or their reviews are way too long and rambly. Maybe both! Sit back, relax and enjoy as Adam and Shawn tell you all about some awesome mini-comics that they, umm, like, totally enjoyed and stuff!

Somehow, between a fish fry, a county fair and a wedding reception, Adam and Shawn managed to find time to attend the Small Press Expo (SPX) in Bethesda, Maryland! This made for a crazy busy weekend, but boy did they have a blast! SPX is one of the best comic conventions for indie creators and the floor was filled with incredible talented people selling awesome books.

So finally, after a month of DC, Shawn and Adam get to move on to the rest of the comics universe. This week the discussion falls on SPX. Expect reminisces, reviews, and rambling. Oh, and rapping, featuring Mega Ran, Adam Warrock, Tribe One, and K-Murdock.

The journey back from SPX 2010 was a long one, but more information than can fit on a floppy disk was shared and absorbed on a trek that felt like traveling the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. Straight to the point: interviews with Roger Langridge, Ed Piskor, and the Full Sanction guys - our thoughts - how to buy books - how to sell - how to survive SPX.

Welcome to The Road to SPX 2010, the first part of what was intended to be the one part documentary, SPX: The Roadtrip, covering the entire journey to and from Small Press Expo in Bethesda, MD. On this journey you can join in with Adam, Heather, and Shawn as they travel north with J Chris Campbell in search of indy comic book nirvana. Tune in next week for Part 2, SPX 2010: The Long Journey Home.
